Dyson's Animal the Second Time Around

Among the most popular reconditioned Dyson vacuum cleaners are the DC07 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum with a HEPA filter. One customer explained how they avoided a decision to buy a reconditioned Dyson. "I thought, who better to ask about vacuums performance than a vacuum repair shop?
I picked 3 randomly out of the phone book and asked each about their opinion of the Dyson.
I got negative responses from every single one of them. Not just the Dyson in particular, but all bagless models.
Problem being that the filters get clogged up and to replace the filter costs 'an arm and a leg.'"
The reconditioned unit is called the Full Kit Upright Vacuum; it is the same as the DC07 except that it comes in a purple/blue color way.
The manufacturer offers a six-month limited warranty on the reconditioned model, with lifetime filters it claims won't clog, that you'll never buy another bag again, and that the clear bin is hygienic and quick to empty with just the push of a button.

But one customer stated with satisfaction, "the unit arrived looking new out of the box, and I had it up and running a few minutes later, after figuring out how to flip a particular plastic piece to allow the vacuum to stand upright."
A less-satisfied owner writes, "When I received the vacuum, I had a piece broken on it that was quite obviously broken (a latch, without which the vacuum could not be run). It was clear it was not broken during shipping.
Then I was shipped the wrong piece (understandable as confusion happens when describing a broken item over the phone) and had to call to re-order the correct piece. Two weeks after originally getting the vacuum, when I did get the right piece and turned the vacuum on, there was no suction."
